Pavilion Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my Pavilion laptop in 2016 and love it. Unfortunately, the battery has started to swell, raising the left side of the keyboard and snapping the plastic case near the left hinge.

I know the laptop is out of warranty but I also know there was a large recall of HP batteries going back a couple years. My battery was not in the recall.

I ran the battery troubleshooter. It says the battery has blown a fuse but it also operating normally.

I back up the hard drive regularly and am not concerned about losing files if the laptop suddenly crashes.

Why wasn't my battery in the recall? How can the battery be swollen and have a blown fuse but also be operating normally?  Is this dangerous? Is the laptop safe to use?  What is my recourse here?
