Hello, i have old HP Pavilion dv6-6c00 with 2th CPU i52450M 35W socket G2/RPGA998B, i know the intel i5-3340M 3th gen have the same socket G2/RPGA998B and the same TPD 35W, but with alot better GPU HD 4000 with Vulkan support(i realy need vulkan for emulation), someone know if possible upgrade this CPU?
And if possible, if i get better CPU 3th gen, with 4 core and bit more TPD (45W) my laptop will work?
If someone know, please help me!
🙂 thanks

Hi:
Unfortunately, that would not be possible. Your notebook's chipset only supports the 2nd gen core processors.
See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors:

Actually, the Intel HM65 Express chipset is not restricted to 2nd gen Intel processors only: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/HM65_Express.html:
This is, incidentally, not a complete listing of all available compatible 3rd gen Intel processors.
And as we can see here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pavilion-dv6-Notebook-PC/1454, there are many HP System Pavilion dv6 Notebook PCs which have been fitted with 3rd gen Intel processors.
However, ONLY dv6 notebooks with motherboard IDs of 181E and 1819 are known to be compatible with 3rd gen Intel processors. You can easily check what your mobo's ID is, such as by downloading/installing this very useful freeware utility program Speccy from here ("FREE SPECCY" and: "Download"): Speccy - Free Download (ccleaner.com), and running it -click on "Motherboard", and you'll see something like this:
If your Model (mother/baseboard) ID is either 181E or 1819, you've hit the jackpot.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
