I want to upgrade a old HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
version 0599110000243210010020100
serial [Private information removed]
SKU XS069EA#ABV
family 103C_5335KV
and seek help for the following:
(1a) the current BIOS is Ver. F12 [08/05/10], do we have a BIOS upgrade from this BIOS version ?
(1b) Is processor [currently i5 M460 @ 2,53GHz] upgrade possible in the laptop (if its socket mounted), hence the highest Processor Specs supported ?
(2) the maximum RAM capacity is 8GB [2 x 4GB], what the HIGHEST memory bus frequency this mother board [144A, ver 65.27] can support (if after BIOS uprade as applicable) ?
(3) what will there be a performance enhancement if the HDD is replaced with a SSD ( as it has only SATA-II interface) ?
(4) Does Win10 OS perform well on this configuration ?
(5) Can the current WiFi card RALINK RT3090BC4 V20A be replaced with a card with enhanced Specs - What is the enhanced WiFi card ?
(6) Pertinent suggestions, Thankyou -

Hello
you have the manual with everything you need here:
HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
Two customer-accessible/upgradeable SODIMM slotsDDR3 PC3-10600 1333-MHz memorySupports dual channelDDR3/1333-MHz and DDR3/1066-MHz (only computer models equipped with the IntelCore i7-840QM 1.86 GHz processor, the Intel Core i7-820QM 1.73GHz processor, theIntel Core i7-740QM 1.73 GHz processor, and the Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6 GHzprocessor run at DDR3/1333-MHz; all other computer models run at DDR3/1066-MHz
I leave it to you to read all over again, to open the laptop in order to verify!
For wifi, this may be complicated, to see if it would not be easier to buy a usb wifi dongle
If you install an SSD, it will always be faster than a simple hard drive, it can be relatively interesting!
For windows 10, you may have driver problems, especially with the latest versions.
If you replace the hard drive, test it with an unspecified version, if all is good, you can buy a license then!
