A friend gave me an hp pavilion dv7 2230ev laptop to upgrade it. The laptop had Windows 7 on and got an ssd and upgraded it to Windows 10. I also got new ram sticks, that is 2x4gb ddr3l, as the laptop had 4gb ddr3 total (2x2gb). The problem is that the laptop does not detect the new ram sticks even in bios, i tried putting in one at a time, both of them, different slots, in compination with an old stick.  The result is that the computer doesn't even start when in compination with an older stick or just the new stick(s), except once when i managed to boot with an old one and a new one but even then the new stick was not being detected, and when i opened the bios it detected only 2gb of memory, that was the old stick. I also tried upgrading the ram with the new sticks before i upgrated to Windows 10 and i got the same results. The computer runs fine when i put back in only the old sticks. Has anyone got any idea why is that happening? Could it be a bios problem or could the new ram sticks be faulty?

Specs of the laptop are:
CPU: Intel mobile Core 2 Duo P8800
Motherboard: Quanta 3624
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4650
RAM: old - 2x2gb ddr3 running at 533MHz / new - 2x4gb ddr3l rated at 1600MHz
