I sold a HP Pavilion dv7- 4283cl  laptop in working order  

It used to boot fine not when turned on only shows a white screen and that is it   so thinking if I can fix it 

what does a white screen on a HP Pavilion dv7- 4283cl mean?  hopefully not a video card

I can add I just hooked it to a external screen and nothing show's on it
