Hi @TJ8799,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Remove all external peripherals (such as a mouse, USB flash drive, external keyboard, external HDD, SD cards, LAN cable) that might block the boot process.

Turn on the device and check whether the issue persists.

If the issue is resolved, reconnect the peripherals one by one until the cause is identified.

Reset the boot sequence

The configuration settings for the boot order might have changed. Reset the boot sequence to the original configuration.

To access BIOS, turn on the computer, and then immediately press esc to display the Startup Menu.

Press f10.

Press f9 to reset the BIOS defaults. A screen displays confirmation that you want to load setup defaults. Select Yes, and then press enter.

Press f10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS, and then press enter to confirm.

Use the following configuration to load Windows.

Note: HP does not recommend that you use the UEFI Hybrid option for 2014 and earlier products, or that you disable Legacy Support while Secure Boot is enabled for 2015 and later products.

Perform a hard reset

You can perform a hard reset to try to resolve boot issues.

Note: The following steps are for notebooks with a removable battery. If the notebook does not have a removable battery, see HP PCs - How to power reset your computer.
Disconnect all peripherals, including all USB devices, docking stations, and any other external devices, such as SD media cards.

Disconnect the AC adapter.

Remove the battery.

Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain the system of all residual power and restore default startup settings.

Reconnect the AC adapter, then press the power button.

Note: Do not reinsert the battery yet.
Evaluate if the issue has been resolved, and then reinsert the battery.

Update the BIOS and firmware
You can update the BIOS and the firmware to try to resolve boot issues.

Check whether BIOS is the latest version. If there is a newer version available, see HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) (Windows)

Update the storage drive firmware, if applicable.

 Note:

For some hard drives and solid-state drives, there might not be a firmware update available. See HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads to check for firmware updates.

Run the Quick System Test using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

You can run the Quick System Test to check for boot errors.

For information about running hardware diagnostic tests, including hardware testing options for computers that do not feature a UEFI, see HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures.

If the test fails, at least one component might need to be replaced. Paste the FID captured into the UEFI Decoder and document it in the case notes.
