Hi..I bought a HP Pavilion g6-1150se Notebook PC 4 months back, It works fine but for the last one month am getting beep sound while booting and the beep sound keeps on going and it didn't load the OS. If I press Esc button at the beginning of boot, it loads the windows os perfectly and works fine. But the beep sound is annoying.

Can some one help me to fix this please

Thanks in Advance

Usually this is a way of alerting the user there is a problem.  Does the beeping have a rhythm, such as 3 beeps and a pause, then repeats itself?

You could try a Hard Reset first by turning off you notebook, unplug it, and remove the battery.  Hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds.  Replace the battery, plug the unit in, and power up to see if the beeping stops.

Here is a link for beeping issues for your particular HP Notebook:

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried the Hard reset test, but it doesnt help and the beep sound is continuous and not into a rhythm

Does either one of these samples exist when you power up?

A continuous beep with the Battery LED on at power up.  Points to insufficient Battery Power.

A continuous beep with the AC power adaptor LED on.  There may be insufficient power from the AC Adaptor.

I had an issue like this a couple years ago and it was an adaptor.

I believe it can't be a adaptor problem because it gives beep sound even without the power adapter , I mean while using battery

Also it beeps when I remove battery and use raw power from the adapter

I would try two things:  One, I would reseat my memory.  Two, I would go into Bios and Restore factory settings in Bios.  The Bios runs a self test on the hardware at power up and it thinks it sees an issue. There may  be an issue. But, it may be  that the Bios is interpeting some feedback information incorrectly while testing.  A Bios update could cause this.  By going back to the factory default, you should be able to get to the point you were when you got the computer 4 months ago before the beeping began.  If the beeping continues after these two options than you probably have an issue that is going to require your notebook to be serviced.

I bought a brand new hp dos laptop and installed an m.2 and powered it on(with no OS). Right after I heard that continuous beep sound, i headed to hp forums and i found this thread. It stopped after turning off and turning on again.
