HP Pavilion g7-1015eg Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Recently bought HP Pavilion g7 1015eg from second hand and I want to upgrade the default 4GB RAM to 8GB.

My question is what is the maximum Mhz for this motherboard and also the maximum Mhz that the cpu can handle and wont bottleneck.

Also how many pins? 204?

Thanks for the help.

Hi:

It is very hard to find memory that works in that model since it has an Intel 1st generation core processor.

Normally you use DDR3-10600 (1333 MHz) memory which runs at 1066 MHz.

That (1066 MHz) is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

The memory has to be 1.5V, non-ECC, unbuffered, and have 8 little black memory chips on each side of the circuit board, not 4.

You can see this discussion for what I am writing about regarding the difficulty of finding compatible memory on notebooks with the Intel 1st gen core processors.
