There are some good prices available. I mean as in less that $50.00.  There is nothing wrong with using a refurbished or used unit as long as you ensure it is the 35W type. The 65W processors may not be compatible.

You cannot install an Intel processor in an AMD socket.

 

The Intel processor has a different socket type and uses a different chipset.

For best results it is recommended that you use the HP part numbered processors
