ok so i hate typing so bear with me.....
HP pavilion 15in? touchscreen laptop running Windows 10 was bought brand new and shortly after {like 2 weeks} got a wierd malware issue that would open random windows and play messages thru the speakers, and worst yet it stole my admin rights so i couldnt remove or run any anti virus programs, frustration sets in and i buy a new computer.....so a year later i get the itch to fix this machine and now thru vigorous dilligence, im up and running. but one issue...charger will charge but isnt working 100% correctly, the pc will recognize it for only a second then it will act as if i unplugged it, the battery icon will show the plug and the lite at the charger port will go red, then about a second later the battery icon will go back to unplugged and the lite will turn blue {but not go out, when you unplug the lite goes out} the hard drive lite also blinks when plugged and unplugged so it acts like it notices it but in any menu or check you can run it always says unplugged ...but it still charges just slowly, too slowly to keep up with the pc, even plugged in it will still die if used normally, but left charging overnight it will charge to 100%, ... first off i need the specs or a pic of the stock charger, since the laptop sat for almost a year im not sure if ive found the right one, i have a few hp chargers, a genuine 45w, and an aftermarket insignia 90w for hp pcs it has the same blue tip, both give the EXACT same behavior. i dont think either is the charger that came with it, but both work perfectly with my sons hp that is from like 2010 running the same win10 os as me ......i ran the component check in the bios menu and it will only recognize it if i plug it in right before i run the test but it does pass the test, otherwise it wont see the charger, battery passed.... do i need a higher watt charger? do they make a bigger charger than 90w? can i get exactly what charger model this thing came with or some specs? online it has genuine hp chargers listed for my machine ranging from 45w to 90w all say they will work but im skeptical that a new charger will fix my problem... ive read some hp machines have charging issues after a windows update and need a file edited or deleted, and i updated widows yesterday, heres to hoping for a software fixx, can ya help a brother out?
edit: ok so i tried deleting the 2 drivers that were under the "battery" header in device manager, no dice but i couldnt follow the instructions correctly as i cant remove the battery without disassembly as far as i can see. i wonder how hard it is to remove the battery....

According to the product specs, it shows 45 W AC adapter. click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-15-au100-notebook-pc/12499208/model/12780759/docume... for product specification.
Here is the part number for the battery: 849909-855
Refer to this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228250 for Maintenance and Service Guide.
I suggest you uninstall the batteries from the device manager.
1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it.
2. In the device manager, expand the category "Batteries".
3. Under this category, right click on the driver and click on Uninstall.
4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button.
5. Restart the computer.
Update BIOS using this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If he suspects that his PC is infected by a virus, run a complete scan and check if that helps.
if this does not fix the issue, then we need to perform a recovery using the recovery media
