Hi,

Yes you can add another 8GB of DDR4 2400Mhz memory to your PC. There is one empty slot.

On page 58 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM which is not so easy in your model as you need to remove the system board to get to the RAM slots.

You can also look at these HP videos which can help with upgrade:

Hope it helps,

Hello,

I think you may be incorrect. I just bought this computer and reading the manual it looks like it can only support up to 12 GB of RAM. I was about to buy another 8 GB ram module until i read the specs.

Details from From page 1.

Two SODIMM memory module slots, non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable

Supports up to 12-GB of system memory

Supports the following conƭgurations

● 12288 MB (8192 MB + 4096 MB)

● 8192 MB (8192 MB × 1 or 4096 MB × 2)

● 6144 MB (4096 MB + 2048 MB)

● 4096 MB (4096 MB × 1 or 2048 MB × 2)

Hi @Hotnug

I tell you what the computer will support which is 16GB, naturally you can insert 12GB if that is what you want. Naturally I have read the service manual, I am the one who linked it for you. I understand that it says 12Gb, but the PC will support 16GB.

If you need further confirmation you can see here on Crucial site which guarantees its memory upgrades:

All the best,

David

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the manufactures manual has a typo or does not properly list the maximum GB.   I was merely pointing out that the manual was contridicting your original post when i looked it up.  If crucial says it can support 16 GB and they guarantee it then it must be correct.

I just didn't want to order another 8 GB stick only to find out the device never supported it.

Cheers,

Hotnug
