Help! There are 2 parts to my question.

1) Looking for a docking station for my HP Pavilion x360.

I would like to have something permanently sitting on my home desk (hopefully that doesn't cost a fortune) that will allow me to charge my laptop as well as connecting it to my monitor seamlessly. What is the best docking station to do this? What's throwing me off is the powering part. Other then the charging cable and ac adapter that my computer came with, what other options do I have to power up my computer? Not sure which port or cable I would need to power it up.

2) Bonus points if you can help me find a docking station that would also work with with  my work laptop which happens to be a 2016 MacBook Pro 15". I typically charge it with a usb-c cable like the one here: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLL82AM/A/usb-c-charge-cable-2-m?afid=p238%7CsH7TDrQBF-dc_mtid_18...

I have an inexpensive docking station for it that works perfectly but I don't think it is functional with my HP Pavilion x360.

Here's the model I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MF1WN5T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In most instances if the laptop can be charged by USB-C then HP ships a USB-C charger with it. You got a barrel charger and that is the only way to charge the laptop is with that type charger. Docking stations can "work" at many levels. A USB-C port replicator using DisplayLink technology could work on the USB-C or the USB 3.1 port of the laptop and give you a way to connect an external monitor even if it will not be the fastest interface. What happens when you connect that last docking station you asked about in your initial post? My guess is it would "work" on some level.

Thanks for the offer of bonus points but you have set an impossible task. Your laptop's USB-C ports are data only so cannot be used to charge the laptop and do not carry an Alt-DP video signal.

Thanks for your help @huffer. but can you answer a couple more questions? I'm at a loss...

Do you know if any docking stations will work with my HP Pavilion x360 (taking the Macbook and USB c out of the equation)? And if so, which ones? I'm struggling to understand what docking station, port, and cable would actually work for the HP Pavilion x360? It came with an Ac Adapter Laptop Charger similar to the one here. https://www.amazon.com/13-A010dx-13-A010nr-13-a012dx-15-p010US-15-p030nr/dp/B00O0H19YA

In addition to the usb c (which  you kindly confirmed is unfortunately not for charging), it has 2 USB SS ports. Can those be used to charge the laptop in conjunction with a USB 3.0 power cable?  Thanks a million!
