HP Pavilion x360 15-er1525nz

Hi,

i'm looking to upgrade an HP Pavilion x360 15-er1525nz's RAM.

The Maintenance guide on page 1 states:

Memory Not customer-accessible
Up to 16 GB of DDR4-3200 dual-channel support
Supports the following configurations:
● 16 GB (8 × 2)
● 12 GB (8 + 4)
● 8 GB (8 × 1 or 4 × 2)
● 4 GB (4 × 1)

Does that mean that the memory is soldered ?

But on page 33-34, the ram removal procedure is explained...

I'm also suprised that the max ram is only 16. I read on intel webpage that this CPU supports up to 64GB... Has HP on purpose limited it ? Or should it be possible to install more RAM ?

Tks

P.S: I'm now confused, as the CPUs mentionned on the guide for 6Q2W4EA are of the 11th gen, but the specs and HPpartsufer mention 12th gen CPUs...

Hi:

What HP means by 'Not customer-accessible' is that they want any work done inside the notebook performed by an authorized HP service center.

The memory is removable.

The Crucial memory report for the model series indicates that it can support 2 x 32 GB of memory.

HP - Compaq Pavilion 15-er1000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

You can also run this report to see what Windows indicates:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
