HP Pavilion X360 Convertible 14-Cd0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I have a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx laptop (18 months old).

While opening the laptop I found that the bottom part of the touchscreen is mobile, as it is sticking out a few mms from the backing on both of the bottom corners. The problem gets worse the wider I open the laptop. The screen itself is not damaged, it has no problems working, the touchscreen is also working.  If I gently push on the corners of the screen, it clicks back to the cover and stays put until I close and open the laptop again.
The laptop was not dropped, it always travels in a cushioned laptop sleeve and I was not even using the 360 function as the sellers warned against it (due to common hinge problems) when I bought the computer.

I saw the same problem in other posts:

The reseler that sold me the laptop need some kind of  proof that this wasn't cause of a misuse, so I benefit from the second year warranty. Could you please help me with that.

 Thanks in advance

@Shalaffi

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

This sounds like hardware related issue with the Hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution

Thanks for the quick response.  😀

The manufacturer warranty has expired, and in Europe the second year warranty come from the reseller, in this case www.alternate.de . This hinge issue appear to be a known problem and would only need some kind of general information from HP that this is a known issue, an emerge in some cases.

Thanks in advance
