Spoiler

Hello guys, I bought an HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1011tu, core i5 8GB Ram with Windows 10 Home single language license, Microsoft office license. I'm really happy with it so far. But the problem is - on the keyboard, all of the keys are backlit EXCEPT the spacebar. I know this is an annoying question, but is it supposed to be lit or is a light fixture broken in there? Or can anyone else with an HP Pavilion x360 - 14 confirm this? This is one of those things, that I know will bother me for the eternity of my time with this laptop if I know it's broken.

Thanks!

@durgeshvadher Welcome to HP Community!

I see from your post you need information and assistance related to no backlight on the spacebar on your new HP notebook.

Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

If you're looking why there is no light on the back of the spacebar, that's normal. There is nothing wrong with the laptop it's designed in such a way.

While it may look a bit inconsistent or strange in the dark, I honestly wouldn't find much use for a backlit spacebar considering that it's easily the biggest key on any conventional keyboard.

To adjust the brightness of the backlight, press the key with the backlight icon  two or three times in a row. The keyboard backlight dims and brightens. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time to activate the backlight key.

For more details on how to use the backlight feature, please go through this support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Turning a Backlit Keyboard On or Off

I hope I have answered all your questions. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

@durgeshvadher

I understand your concerns.

Our laptops have the backlight for all the keys, except for the spacebar. This is by design and not a malfunction.

Have a nice day!!
