Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m cd0003dx, I want to extend a couple of monitors making this laptop's display the third display (3 screens with different content in each) . I have one HDMI port, 2 USB SS ports and one c-type port for data transfer on this laptop. I thought of getting a c-type docking station so that I can connect keyboard, mouse and monitors' HDMI cables to the docking station to avoid too many cables connected to my laptop but, with the current configuration of my laptop it doesn't look like a possibilty. Is there a way I can upgrade the ports to support a docking station as such or is there a better alternative to achieve something similar. Please suggest.

It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

   Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

USB to HDMI Adapter  (they also sell connection for more than 1 monitor)

For more connectivity, please use

                       True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.

Thanks for your response. Also, is it possible to change the ports (upgrade to 3.2 that supports something else also other than only data transfer)? . Are there such replacement parts availabel for this model? If yes, would there be any limitations that I should consider other than just replacing the hardware?

You have to make hardware change (if available). I can't find USB-C board for your machine
