My HP Pavillion Laptop from 2016 refuses to update Windows 10 correctly. It only gives me the options to reset my computer, turn off my computer, or use a disc/hard drive for the Windows 10 update. I need my current apps and files to stay on my computer. What should I do?

We need to know the specific version of Windows 10 the laptop is running right now.  Since you probably do not know that, in the Search area, enter "winver" (without the quotes) and tell us what it says.

 

Also, when Windows Updates fail, they have error messages.  We need to know those error codes.
