HP 255 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got this laptop from someone who said it didnt work. I work on things fix them and sell them. I am confused because all this laptop has is a heatsink plate that goes over the cpu. It looks like it has a spot for a fan but the one I ordered does not fit. The laptop boots up but gives the fan error. It stays on for roughly about 30 minutes then shuts off I figure because its getting too hot because of no fan? I put arctic silver thermal paste on the cpu. I have just never seen a laptop with no fan in all my years of messing with computers. Any ideas? I included pics.  In case pics dont show i uploaded them here https://ibb.co/GTnzwhB

Hi:

You are referencing two different models in your post...the subject 250 G6.  The body 255 G6.

If the notebook came with an Intel Celeron or Pentium processor, those do not come with fans by design.

If the PC came with an AMD E2-9000e processor, that model most likely does not come with a fan either.

The hardware engineers decided that notebooks with those low power processors do not need fans.
