Since the warranty is probably expired, HP would not fix this -- so you best bet, since we have no info on parts prices, is to do an online search for the part and then see if a local laptop repair shop will do the replacement and how much they will charge. This is likely to be VERY expensive, so it could easily be more than simply replacing the laptop.
