HP Pavillion X-360 Convertible 14m-ba0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Pavillion X-360 Convertible 14m-ba0xx that has a space and a socket for a 3.5" SSD but they don't make a cord to connect the drive to the socket. Does anyone know where to get the cable or how to make one?

Hi,

You do not give the exact model number of your notebook (to see specs). !4m-ba0xx is for the whole series.

Model number

Anyway the 2.5" drive in those models is a "special" drive which already comes with the cable attached to it. Look on page 44 of service manual:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06172090

So, you could buy one of those drives, you can see the part number for the different capacity drives.

However, the best idea and probably cheaper would be to replace the M2 SSD with a higher capacity (and maybe faster) M2 drive. Then reinstall the OS on it.

Hope it helps,

David

The original SSD is soldered to the motherboard. I've never attempted removal and replacement of that type of hardware.
