Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All

I am confused which replacement fan I need for my Pavillion Dv6-6023tx.  I bought two off Ebay and neither work because the laptop doesnt recognise it presumably as the pin connections are different.

The specs of my laptop are Intel i5 processor, and there is an AMD HD6700M graphics processor with 2G memory also an Intel Graphics 3000 with 1G memory.

My confusion is because there is a different part number depending on which graphics card i choose.  eg 665308-001 for 1G memory,  665309-001 for 2G or 665307-001 for UMA

Can someone enlighten me please? I would like to order one before I dismantle the laptop

That's right, not all options for graphics card are the same, one card may run hotter than other therefor you need the right fan(s).

The specs of your machine is

It has  AMD Radeon HD 6770M (discrete, 1GB dedicated) therefore you need part # 665308-001.

Hi Thanks for the reply and confirmation that I need a Part No 665308-001 fan for my DV6.  I am still a bit hesitant to order one because when I Google that part number I find several fans all with Sunon MF60120V1-C181-S9A part number but some are wired differently.  They are all the same at the plug end eg Red, Blue, Black Yellow from left to right but some are different at the fan end connections  eg. Bk, Y, R, Bl   and Bk, R, Y, Bl  and R, Bl, Y, Bk and so on from top to bottom respectively.

All very confusing!  Can anyone tell me what the correct wiring at the fan end should be?  Presumably the fan internals are all the same so why should the wiring be different.

Cheers GH
