HP Pavilion x360 - 14-cd0087tu
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased hp pavillion x360 laptop about 3 years ago. I am working from home and use the laptop everyday 9 to 6. Recently I noticed that the screen is coming off from right side. I have kept the laptop very carefully and it has never fell down, but suddenly the screen is coming off which is a big disappointment considering the amount of money I paid to buy this. I have seen same issue faced by a lot of other people on this forum but, the solution is not posted publicly. Please suggest what can I do about this?laptop.jpg

PXL_20220221_032646415.jpgNo solution till now and the screen broke. Wow!

I'll have to spend money on repair now which is clearly a manufacturing fault.

Not going to recommend this laptop to anyone,

There seems to be a problem with certain X360's and the hinges. To fix it you'll need new hinges, screen and whatever plastics broke. If you do it yourself, it's worth it, but for a shop to do it, I'd invest that money in another laptop,

How much would it cost though, if we get it done from the shop vs if we do it ourselves?

not sure, but probably under $200 for replacement parts as a rough guess, then add $400 US or so for a shop to tear it down install parts and put it back together.

Here is your service manual it has the procedures to do it yourself- http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06140017.pdf
