HP Pen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP-Community,

I have an HP ProBook x360 440 G1 and recently got the HP Pen as a gift. Now, I tried to connect the pen to my notebook, which unfortunately didn't work.

The notebook definitely supports pen & touch input and I intentionally wanted an HP Pen, and now this doesn't work out. To be honest I just found out that the ProBook isn't recommended as compatible device for the HP Pen, but it would be rather disappointing when two HP products (who should technically definitely be able to connect) aren't competible to each other.

Is there the opportunity that I can install any kind of driver or similar to solve this problem? Or maybe I'm overseeing sth. right now, and it's even possible in an easier way?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best regards,
Philipp

Hello Philipp

not all HP pens are the same.

check in Device Manager is the digitizer is Wacom.

X360 440 G1 uses the HP ACtive Pen , it's a AES Wacom pen.

if you pen uses another technology, it's not compatible and never work.

bye

Hi,

thanks for the quick response. So that would mean that I would have to buy another HP pen? Hope that's not the case...
Shouldn't the two devices just be compatible through Wnidows Ink?

I can't look up the digitizer in the device manager as it didn't connect so far, or what did you mean?

BR,
Philipp

Open Device Manager

look for Human Interface Deviced

at the end of the list , it's in alphabetical order, you should find Touc Screen Compatile Device and Wacom Device .

or you my find something different, but I'm almost sure it's wacom.

bye
