HP ProBook 450 G7

Hello!

I'm going to buy HP ProBook 450 G7 when it will appear. There are tech specs of this notebook at the official web site. I'm interested in the memory section:

  1. 32 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (16 GB x 2)
  2. 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (16 GB x 1)
  3. 12 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (8 GB x 1 and 4 GB x 1)
  4. 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (8 GB x 1)
  5. 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (4 GB x 2)
  6. 4 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (4 GB x 1)

Doesn't this notebook work with the following configuration 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (8 GB x 2)?

Is it true or mistake in the specification?

Hi, @ilyamuromets

I agree 100% with Fanordi.

It is a mistake by HP in leaving out the 2 x 8 GB memory configuration.

They don't always put every possible configuration in the manuals, or they mistakenly leave things out.

If the notebook can take 8 + 4, it can take 8 + 8.

Hello, it is strange it is not indicated.. But this configuration need work, if you have 1 or 2 modules (you have 2 slots), in SO-DIMM DDR4-2666, and you not install more 16 Gb by slot, all configurations need woks.

If I have been answer to your question please accept it as a solution 🙂

Thanks for the answer!

Does your answer mean that there are mistake in the official tech specs (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-probook-450-g7-notebook-pc/29090065/document/c06475016#AbT6)?

Hello, I think HP lists not all configurations because he don't sold all configurations possible.

But this is the tech specs of the notebook. In the tech specs of the previous model ProBook 450 G6 indicates that it supports memory configuration 8Gb x 2. It's weird and looks like true. And If buy this notebook with 8Gb, I can't upgrade it to 8Gb x 2 configuration. And I will have to throw out 8Gb module and buy 16Gb - it's bad.

If your notebook is working it is probably a forgetfulness from HP. For your 450 G6 you can open a new subject if you want help for this other PC.
