HP ProBook 4730s Notebook PC

Produkt A6E43EA

Serie [Personal Information Removed]

Microsoft overwrites constantly the properly working Bluetooh driver by forced automatic updates.

The driver in the provided update does not work.

Microsoft should no longer apply the update in question.

Hi:

If you can revert back to the working Bluetooth driver...

Run the Microsoft hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below.

It will search for updates.

When it finds the offending Bluetooth driver update, check the box to hide it.

Restart the notebook and the update should no longer try to install.

Thank you very much.

Every time in case of the unwanted driver update, I am currently uninstalling the device with deletion of the software checked.

With the software of the not working driver deleted, the system installs the working driver again.

However, this is not a solution. Microsoft software must be able to choose a suitable driver.

There sould be information provided in the inf file or in other driver files.

Qualcomm Atheros refers to the manufacturer HP.

HP provides no drivers for Windows 10 for this model.

You're very welcome.

If you run the utility I zipped up and attached, you won't have to ever mess with the device again after you fix it the one time.

HP does have a W10 driver for the Atheros Bluetooth that supports the model BT adapters listed below...

Good afternoon,

thank you very much for the quick answer.

I have tried several drivers.

AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 is the wrong specification.

Moreover, I have found among the Bluetooth related error messages in the Eventlog one which was Bluetooth 4.0 related.

The result of my tests is so far:

Only AR3011 Bluetooth 3.0 version 10.0.1.15 works with this hardware (see table below).

Unfortunately, there is a whitelist implemented in the bios.

In order to use modern Bluetooth hardware outside of the whitelist, you must find a Bios modder.

You're very welcome.

You could replace the Atheros card with this model which is also dual band...

Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230   HP part # 636672-001

You have to buy the exact part number.

I usually only buy the cards where I see the part number listed on the white label placed over the other label.

636672-001 in | eBay

It is listed as a supported card in chapter 3 page 25 of the service manual.

Well, as I indicated in my first reply, if you have the working 10.0.1.15 driver installed, and you run the Microsoft Hide Windows update utility I attached this morning, it will find and prevent 10.0.3.18 from installing after you check the box to hide the update, and you will never have to deal with the problem anymore.

I have uninstalled the device and deleted the MS update driver software by checking the provided box,

After that, I have tried to install the genuine HP driver software mentioned in this thread before.

However, the installation of the HP driver software package was refused.

Message was, that a newer driver was installed before.
