I have an HP ProBook 6455b laptop and had some questions about upgrading. I was wondering what I could upgrade the Radeon HD 4250 graphics card to? I play WoW, FFXIV A Realm Reborn, etc. wanted to know what would make them run better and not cost too much. I normally play on low settings and don't want/need to play on high or ultra, just make them run a little better. Or what other upgrades I could make to this like RAM or CPU. Also, I was wondering what the 2nd batery option was? On power options it says Battery #1 and Battery #2 but #2 has nothing; so this thing can hold two batteries? Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

I looked at that and there is only the one board for AMD models, with the Radeon 4250 HD. You do not even want to ask how much it would cost to swap out to an Intel motherboard. With the board and the processor and labor you could buy a new gaming laptop.

There is no upgrade to the video system. It is soldered to the motherboard.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

It can take up to 8 gb of RAM and the top processor in your model is either a 2.2 ghz AMD Quad-Core or a 3 ghz dual core.  See page 1.  A CPU upgrade is way costly and difficult and will not improve the gaming performance much if at all.

There can be a second battery clipped on the bottom.

See this diagram page 2 item 5. Those batteries are hard to find. I made a quick search online and on eBay and could not find one to even show you a picture of one. It is a big plate that covers the whole bottom of the laptop but with it you can use the laptop 8-10 hours.

Yes, that pretty much answered my question, unless you know of another motherboard that would fit in this laptop, or at least would take the components in it but with a better GPU.

Thanks for the help! I've decided to build a gaming desktop, and use the laptop for weaker games and schoolwork since it does all of those things well.

Probook 6455b being limited to 8GB is incorrect.  I have upgraded my 6455b to 16GB (2 x 8GB) and it works great.  So it looks like AMD chipset is better in this regard than similar generation intel cpu based probook which are limited to 8GB total memory.
