HP ProDesk 600 G5 Small Form Factor

Hello all,

I purchased a Dell C1422H Portable Monitor with a Type C display port. The desktop I would like to connect it to is an HP ProDesk 600 G5 Small Form Factor with a DisplayPort 1.2. This desktop does NOT have a Type C display port.

I am looking for a way to connect this display to my desktop. Below are the options I have tried and my believed reason why it didn't work;

  • j5create USB 3.1 (Gen2 Type-c) Male to Display Port Male
    • This did not work because it was unidirectional in the direction I did not need and it doesn't deliver power
  • StarTech USB-C to DisplayPort 1.2 Bi-directional adapter cable
    • I am assuming this one still did not work because of no power delivery. Mind you, this monitor has 2 type C ports. Even when plugging power into the other port, it still did not work
  • Inland 11 in 1 triple display dock
    • With this option, I plugged the dock into the single port, added power to the dock and a display port cable to my PC and it STILL didn't work.

My last idea would be to replace the 3rd optional slot in the back of my computer from a display port 1.2 to the type c display port. I know this is an option from the factory, but not sure how to go about getting that piece of hardware.

I am at a loss. This purchase is turning into a very expensive paperweight. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance

-Noah
