Just confirming that this laptop works perfectly with 16 GB of RAM installed, running Ubuntu 19.04. No startup delays or special procedures. Literally just replace the existing RAM as you normally would.

I used the G.SKILL F3-1600C9D-16GRSL and the latest BIOS release.

Now check out the same thing on Windows.😉

Unfortunately:

  1. I don't have an extra Windows 10 license
  2. This is a dedicated Linux laptop
  3. I don't have the time

Generally speaking, if hardware doesn't support Windows very well, it's a good idea to move to Linux. I say this not to advocate Linux per se, but as someone who runs all 3 major OS paradigms (Windows, Linux, and Unix). No reason to fight with an OS and hardware if a different combination works just fine.

I once tried Linux, I did not like it at all. And switch to another OS because of one problem is somehow not logical.
