HP Probook 4540s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone!

I bought this HP Probook 4540s recently and wanted to make an upgrade from two 4gb ram to two 8gb ram. A lot of website and even crucial scanner said that this model can occupy 16gb ram. However, there were issues of performance degrade when attempting to do so. I just want to know if it's safe to upgrade to 16gb ram now? Also, there was a workaround that people uses accessing msconfig - boot - advanced - maximum memory before and after the upgrades. Does the work around still work? Thank you so much in advance.

okay so as far is everythings going seems like 16gb is doing its job. didn't have problems with the upgrade. just configured everything on boot section and set it as maximum memory for 16gb and it worked so far.
