I updated a driver and got stop code Critical process died which took me to the BSoD. I troubleshooted and nothing worked. I decided to use HP Recovery for hardware and Drivers. Got to file backup page and realized I had no discs, went to get some and when I returned inserted disc to save backup to drive E: then pressed Next to move on. The screen is frozen on that page. Is it safe to cancel the backup and start over?

@MISTY_88 I'm afraid there's no other way of doing this, but to restart the process, please perform a hard reset by disconnecting all external devices including the power cord, hold the power button in to release any static and then reconnect the power cord and basic connections such as monitor, keyboard and mouse back, before turning on the PC and attempting the recovery process.

Things didn't go well at all, I cannot even do a backup. I need a recovery disc as mine did not come with one. Or a download page I can get. I think I should have done an update to BIOS among other things as well, I cannot afford a new computer and need the one I got for school. I am devastated by this. Sure hope you can help. Thanks.
