HP OmniBook 5 16 inch Laptop AI PC 16-af1000 (B89CVAV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I just wanted to say that the HP RiskFree CarePacks (3-year) are the best deals around.

If you don't make a claim in the 3 years, you get a rebate back for the amount you paid (you have to send in a form to request the refund).

I've already received 2 of the rebates over the years for 2 HP laptops, and I'm going to get another for my latest HP OmniBook 5 AI PC laptop.

Good job, HP!

@MrNara,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with HP products/services!

It's always nice to hear positive feedback from someone who's successfully used the HP Risk-Free Care Pack program more than once. I'm glad the rebate process worked smoothly for you, and I hope you continue to enjoy your new HP OmniBook 5 AI PC!

Kind Regards,

I'm glad I waited for 2 weeks: they offered a further discount on the CarePack!

Not sure why the original posting here says B89CVAV.  Mine is a BA3S1UA (16-af1095cl).

@MrNara,

I think you are right to question the product SKU designation.

The B89CVAV shown in the original post and your BA3S1UA are not necessarily evidence that HP has identified the wrong computer. HP uses several different identifiers for its notebooks, and the HP Community product field can sometimes display a broader product-family/configuration designation rather than the exact retail SKU of the individual machine.

In your case, there are several identifiers involved:

  • Product family: HP OmniBook 5 16
  • Series: 16-af1000
  • Specific model: 16-af1095cl
  • Your product number/SKU: BA3S1UA

For troubleshooting purposes, I would rely on the product number reported by the notebook itself, rather than the automatically populated product description in the forum.

Please press Fn + Esc on the laptop. HP's System Information window should show the Product Name and Product Number. You can also run msinfo32 and check System Model and System SKU.

If the machine itself reports BA3S1UA, then that's the number I'd use when looking up its BIOS, drivers, warranty information, and other hardware-specific support.

The 16-af1000 designation in the HP Community description isn't particularly concerning because that is the broader series designation; a 16-af1095cl can quite legitimately belong to the 16-af1000 family.

What I would be interested in determining is why HP Community associated B89CVAV with your post. If Fn + Esc confirms BA3S1UA and HP's support site also recognizes BA3S1UA as the 16-af1095cl, then I'd consider the B89CVAV entry in the forum to be a product-catalog/community association rather than your actual machine's SKU.

If you post what Fn + Esc reports for Product Number and Product Name, we can compare that with HP's support database and determine exactly what B89CVAV represents.

Kind Regards,
