Hi

My hp stream 11 restarted today, and now the keyboard is not working!  The caps lock light, and general keys on the baord don't work.  I had a job signing into to the laptop as i had a password, and i had to use the pop up screen keyboard on the screen.

I've tried restarting and this doesn't work.  The laptop hasn't been dropped or had any damage done to it, just suddenly wouldn't type!

Any advice or tips on what i can do would be gratefully appreciated.  I really don't want to buy another laptop as i'm broke!

Thanks

Sarahx

Hi @sarahz,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Stream 11 Notebook and issues with not typing. You can change the options for your keyboard by going to Control panel, Keyboard change keyboards. Here is  a link that shows you how to do that from Microsoft.

Please let me know how this goes.

Hi

There isn't a menu in the control panel for keyboard settings.  But thanks anyway.

Hey @sarahz,

Try going into the Device Manager and uninstall what is listed there. Here is a link that shows you how to change the settings.

Diable or Turn-off the "FILTER KEYS"  option in EASE OF ACCESS menu and it works !!
