The software and driver downloads page on the HP self support website never finishes "compiling" my results - it never gets to the point where it can tell me what updates are available to download and install.
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice
Question: Does this website check for the same updates as the bundled HP Support Assistant app?
I go to this link and successfully select my registered product (Spectre x360). The next screen then displays this message while checking for updates.
After waiting for considerably longer than 3 minutes - and trying in both Firefox and Chrome - the page never resolves.
I see people have historically had issues with the website. Does anyone have any sucess with this page?

Hi,
Try going directly to the software and driver page for that series:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-13-ap0000-x360-convertible-pc/23238155
It should have the same updated drivers as HP support assistant and also older drivers. Naturally the page is for the whole series of which yours is a model. So only install the needed drivers for your product.
Hope it helps,
David

Thanks. It's good to know of that page if I know what I'm looking for, although it's hard to see which drivers need updating.
The reason I was looking on there was to update my BIOS in an attempt to fix the noisy fan that seems to plague Spectres. I have now installed the latest BIOS from that page. The worrying things is that the bundled HP Support Assistant app didn't suggest that a BIOS update was available, so I have no idea if I've updated or downgraded my BIOS.
I'm marking your answer as a solution though, as it does solve my immediate problem.
