I had to reinstall my OS. After I did, every time I touch the SimplePass reader, it flashes orange and takes me to the "getting started" box to set up my fingerprints. So it is working since I get an orange light. I press the Get Started button and it takes me to the screen to record my fingerprints but on that screen there is no light and it fails to read anything.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the HP SimplePass software to the latest version for W10:

Hey Paul,
Thanks for the reply. Actually, I already had the latest driver and software, which was not working.
I just discovered the solution, which was just the opposite. I had to revert to the original software, which uses a driver for win 8 and works on 10. So all is well.
