My HP Spectre 13-af012dx Primary (internal) battery died and it won't charge, and the laptop doesn't start with charger connected.
At starts, it shows low bettery warning sign and ask enter to continue, then the laptop just shuts off during loading with HP sign (before the window sign), then just repeat.
I am guessing this the battery is completely dead and doesn't hold enough charge enough to even start the laptop even with the charger is on. I am trying to replace the battery, but No replacement battery sold on HP part center, and I can't even find battery model number from the HP part center. Anyone knows the battery part number for HP Spectre - 13-af012dx?
Whats most frustrating is that the laptop doesnt even start with charger on.

@Grove86 , welcome to the forum.
Here are the components for your laptop on HP PartSurfer: https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=2LU84UA
If you look at the section titled "Battery" the Part Number is listed: 924960-855.
The battery is technically the secondary power source for the laptop. Therefore, it should power on using the AC adapter. Here is a guide that may help you solve your problem: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-spectre-13-af000-laptop-pc-series/16779583/model/18164693/do...
It may be the AC adapter that has failed and not the battery.

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes. After the troubleshooting, i found out that the window was corrupted, and kept shutting off while loading, and reboot. With low battery, it kept showing the low battery warning at reboot and repeat.
After I re-installed the window files from advance option at start, window started, up and running.
The battery is still an issue as its capacity reduced to below 25%, and i need to replace it. (I know this because it only takes 20min to charge 100% (from laptop battery % view), and i can only run like 30min before it shuts down.
Thank you for the search link. I got the battery part number! You the best. 😄
