My battery is bloating on my Hp Spectre and I see that many others are having the same problem. It is getting worse to the point the case is splitting apart. Having a fire background, the last thing I want is a lithium battery fire in my home or on a plane. I'm taking it back to the place of purchase to see what they say.  Hopefully they have a replacement battery or recall.

If the issue is within the free  factory one year warranty it is likely to be covered by HP.

 

Outside of the one year warranty it is not covered for a free repl;acement battery.

 

Did you register the laptop?

Have you started a warranty claim?
