Hello, I have a Spectre 360 Laptop and it is now out of warranty. My power plug will not stay fastened properly and falls out. It has been fixed before by HP, now has the exact same issue. Does anyone have a valid fix for this? It is obviously a design or QA issue addressed in the newest HP Spectre machines with a round plug vs the flatter oval plug that I have.

It is not a design issue.
I have never seen a thread in the forum where your particular issue has been the subject.
It would help if you took the time to identify your notebook with a product number or complete product name.
Take a look at other threads in this or any other forum and you will find that request is normal.
Proper identification is needed to get accurate answers to questions or issues in any forum environment.

I never posted a concern as HP fixed the issue. It lasted about 1.5 years and the exact problem came back, faulty power port: Power or charging plug will not stay fastened and falls out easily. HP in recent version changed the charging port. The only way this could happen is of the units were defective, causing issues, and corrected with an updated design. I want to know if there is as a fix for my laptop; this is the only issue...

You still haven't provided a model number. Of course HP changed the design, most every time they have a new cpu line come out, there are redesigns of the entire laptop. It's unlikely they went back and made a parts change for a model they don't even carry a battery for anymore. There are literally hundreds of DC jacks for HP laptops available from 3rd party resellers..
We can look at the service manual for the part number, they are usually about $10 US. I haven't been around as long as some here, but since HP sells about 13 million laptops a year, we do hear of common problems. I stress to everyone that I repair their laptop don't jerk the power cord around, insert in straight in and avoid moving or bumping them. That's what typically wears them out.

With all due respect, please don't be silly. I worked for a major OEM that built electronic products relabeled for companies as AT&T and such. If an intricate part as an import power plug were not faulty, an issue, I can assure you this would not be retrofitted. These efforts are only undertaken for cost, function, ease of manufacturing or excess failure. In this case it seems clear the excess failure would be the case. Products as an Apple iPhone, for example, have secure power ports. All I'm saying is a flagship product as my Spectre 360 should not have a fragile power port where the rest of the unit is like new; I only wish instructions/help to repair.
I used a Jewelers loupe to look inside the computer power port and it appears the inner housing is tourn, exactly as it did the last time. My concern is taking the laptop apart to repair. I do not misuse my laptop, especially after the first time breakage and repair of the exact issue.

I believe I answered your Q's on the last response to another user. Please review as I have had this issue once before, the only issue with this computer; I've had many HP's over many years. We purchased a new Spectre for a friend and the first thing I noticed was a round more secure power port, vs the oval on mine. The computers work excellently, I just want a secure power port and I am very careful realizing the fragility. I need to know how to repair either myself or professionally. The other user said the part is appx $10, but then how to get to it and repair?
