I have only once seen an option to use the extra lower screen (half) when in clam shell mode with the keyboard only covering half of the bottom screen area. How can I get the Snap feature to recognise this additional screen space?

Hi @Bkshah,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To use the additional screen space on the HP Spectre Fold 17, especially when the device is in clamshell mode with the keyboard covering only half of the bottom screen, you'll want to leverage Windows Snap features alongside any specific settings or software provided by HP for managing the dual-display functionality of your device. Here are steps to potentially enable and make the most of the extra screen space:
Update Your System and Drivers: Ensure your Windows OS and all relevant drivers, particularly those for the display and any specific ones provided by HP for the Spectre Fold, are fully updated. HP often releases software updates that can improve functionality and add features. Click here
Use Windows Snap Layouts:
- With a window selected, press Windows key + Z to display the Snap layouts.
- Hover over a zone in the Snap layout that corresponds to the area of the screen you want to use. If Windows recognizes the additional screen space as a separate entity, it should offer Snap options that include it.
Windows Settings for Multiple Displays:
- Go to Settings > System > Display. Here, you should see your screen represented, possibly as one large display if Windows doesn't automatically recognize the fold as creating two separate display zones.
- If there's an option to configure the displays separately, do so. If not, you may only be able to manually adjust the positioning of windows to utilize the space.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
