HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch055na

I bought this computer in August 2018 (4 and a bit years ago), I had a failure in 2020 where HP were fantastic and repaired the laptop FOC, the same problem has occurred again (and arguably with the lack of use over Covid lockdowns probably the same amount of working time !!).

HP Support told me its no longer supported and find someone else to mend it. It was a really expensive laptop and its not even 5 years old.

Can someone please help us out as it was a really good computer, but it looks from the posts that I am not the only person to have this issue with the motherboard. we have lots of HP laptops at work but I am struggling to see why it would be a good idea to buy another one.

4 1/2 years manufacturer support is a bit poor, even apple support thier products for 7 years.

Really dissappointed ... change my mind.

HP has a service affiliate network, so you can just take the laptop to a local HP Service Center and ask them to order a motherboard for you. They can do the replacement as well.

What in the world is an laptop FOC?

I am familiar with laptop and PC components and have never heard of that acronym.

How about describing the problem and providing details for all attempts to remedy it.

At this point you have not provided a single bit of information on what you perceive as a fault.

I think it means Free Of Charge - had me stumped for awhile as well...

@Jupitero

Hmm.

Self made up acronyms don't help us a bit when we are trying to help. Maybe it is just me, but I believe that making us guess is counterproductive.
