Hello,
I'm having boot problems with my HP Sprectre, it says it can't find the disk
The product number of this machine is X3S24LA#ABM.HP Spectre Pro 13 G1.
Could someone please help me with the part number of the hard drive so I can search for it or guide me where to find it? It is 512GB SSD,
Thanks a lot
Marina

It may be that the files on the drive are just corrupted and you need to do a disk repair. By running diagnostics first,
Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.
If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty
If not in warranty then go the the below site and enter your serial number. You should get both General information such as a parts list and also Unique Information such as features your motherboard was programmed to have. Select the General information to find a part such as a disk drive
https://partsurfer.hp.com
if the drive passes diagnostics
then it just needs to be repaired
If you can pass the memory and disk test then you need to do a startup repair.
To do a startup repair you need boot into windows recovery mode. First read this article about safe mode.
Skip down to 'Enter safe mode from outside windows'. If f11 does not get you into system recovery then try turning the power on and off three or more times in a row.
When you get to advanced options select 'Startup Repair'
|
If the startup repair fails then try the restore point.
This video describes how to use a restore point. Ignore that it shows windows working. Clicking on "System restore" will bring up the list of restore points similar to what is in the below video.

As requested:
Using your HP product number, I found the part number for the SSD in your laptop.
You should probably save the hyperlink below.
https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=%20X3S24LA&searchby=product
It is below.
HP Part number Description
900890-001 | 512GB solid-state drive (SSD) - M.2 PCIe-3x4 Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) interface, with triple-level cell (TLC) technology |

Is the installed OS Windows 10 64-bit?
I recommend that using a different PC, create a HP PC Hardware Diagnostic UEFI utility on a USB flash disk.
The downloadable file to create a HP PC Hardware Diagnostic UEFI utility is at the HP web document at the hyperlink below.
Tutorial video diagnostics for no boot or won't turn on scenarios are also in the document.

You can fix corrupt files with the system file checker
SFC and DISM are both tools that scan and repair corrupted system files. However, SFC uses a cached version of the files, while DISM uses the internet to download and fix the files.
Try the SFC first and if that gives a message that it cannot fix the problem then try the DISM tool.

Hi,
I would like to do a clean installation of Windows 10, the error still appears from time to time.
I had it connected to a corporate network in which I no longer participate and I have enough configuration of that network that I no longer need to use and of that domain either.
I get 4 partitions on the disk; the number 3 that says OEM and the 4 that says HP_tools.
If I format the disk again and delete those partitions, would I have problems or I can leave partition 3 and 4 and just create 1 and 2 again to reinstall Windows.
The Hp Spectre did not come with installation discs, I don't know if there is any link where you can find the specific information to install on the Hp Spectre.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot,
Marina

You will lose the hp tools partition the recovery partition and any BIOS backup files if you reformat your drive.
Reset or Restore
If you have backups of important file then ---
Cloud recovery provides all the custom HP drivers.
Go to the below site and enter your product ID including the 3 characters after the # character
If you have cloud recovery you can restore your system using a 32gb flash.
It may take an hour or more to create the recovery USB.
https://d34z73bbtpzgej.cloudfront.net/
Alternately, download from the MS windows store if the above sites does not recognized your laptop
Windows reset is not as good as HP cloud recovery because does not look at the HP web site to get drivers. You might be missing camera or fingerprint drivers and others that are specific to HP.
Read this thoroughly before doing a reset
If you do a Windows reset make sure you select the option to preserve personal files
