HP Spectre X360 15T

When buying the HP Spectre X360 15T, I went into it with the understanding that there were some issues with the fan being a little too loud, even when performing minimal tasks.  I dealt with this for a while and it wasn't too bad, but lately it has escalated into a problem that I can no longer ignore.

Every time the fan works a little too hard, it sounds as if it's rubbing against something inside the laptop.  The sound is comparable to a lawnmower and typically lasts anywhere between 30 seconds and a few minutes every time it happens.  I have tried adjusting the Thermal Profile (to no avail) and my BIOS driver is updated to the most recent version.  I'm not sure at this point if I should take my laptop into a Best Buy or somewhere so they can look at the internals of the laptop, but if there's something I can do to avoid that (seeing as I'm a full-time student and I essentially cannot survive without my laptop at this point), I'm all ears.

Hi,

If it is performing a scratching sound you will most likely need to replace the fan. If you want I can provide a guide.

Since you need the laptop constantly you could ask your local computer repair shop to order the part and then only take the PC in for actual fix.

Hope it helps,

David
