Problem: not charging via USB-C adapter

Hi,

My HP spectre x360 stopped charging via the original usb c adapter that i have used for more than a year.

My question is: is my charger broken or is the issue in the laptop  itsself?

The only way i had to check if the usb c port still works was to plug in my phone charger (usb-c). I am aware this will nit charge my laptop but the small charging indicator light did light up orange. So i guess the port works fine.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can give me a solution to my problem or if someone can confirm that i should just buy a new charger.

(I tried the 15 sec. Power button press when turned off with all cables disconnected. Restarted the laptop after turning it back on. Did not work)

You can run a diagnostic on the charger from the UEFI diagnostics. Turn off and turn on. Tap esc quickly and repeatedly then F2 for diagnostics and go to power and run the full tests. That will tell you if the AC adapter is bad. My best guess is that is the problem but some hard data would be nice.
