Just got my HP Spectre 13. After charging it and first time using it for around 2-3 hours, it become extremely hot (especially the gold part). I am not sure if this is normal, can someone share your experience?
Also, when it's very hot I checked the back, and it's like one side (the left side as shown on the photo) of the space that hot air coming out is like blocked by some plastic inside. Is it what it is or is it not normal?
Look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks a lot. SAm

Mine looks exactly the same. I had never noticed that one side of the vents is blocked off like that. But as I said I am not experiencing overheating. We need to quantify the heat. One man's hot is another man's warm and laptops do get warm. If it is so hot you cannot keep your hand there that is too hot. Just getting warm enough that it is a little uncomfortable is not too hot.

Install one of these programs and provide the results. I will do the same with mine and we can compare.

Yes I can see like a strip of plastic tape inside there. What is the exact model? Someone in my office just bought a Spectre and I also have the "world's thinnest" Spectre 13 and I would like to look and see if either one that I can look at has that same thing in the vents.
I can say that mine does not get hot but the fan does run a lot when it is on AC power (not battery). I do not think I have that same model, though.

Mine get really hot, like just now I used for around 2 hours( battery only), it gets really hot in the area between F2-F7 buttons, and the whole Gold color section. So worried if there is any problem with the one I got
