Hi!
I've recently purchased Samsung USB C flash drive and I decided to test it via CrystalDiskMark 8.
The speeds we're not what I was expecting, so I attached my usb c hub to the laptop and then plugged in my Samsung Fit (normal usb) drive to the hub, ran the same test and also got lower speeds than what I get if I plug it into the USB 3 port of the laptop.
I've also had issues in the past while using usb c to usb c cable with my phone.
Most of the time it will just charge and not connect for data transfer - the issue is not cable nor phone setting, because if I plug it into my work macbook everything works properly.
I'm 100% sure it's the usb c ports, I'm just not sure is it hardware or software problem.
I'm running the newest bios F49, I've also updated the drivers for the Thunderbolt and for the chipset.
Tried holding the power button at boot to reset controllers, that didn't help.
Also checked the bios settings, there is almost nothing regarding usb.
I'm pretty sure I've done everything I could (except for windows reinstall) to fix this.
Just wanted to check if anyone else has any other ideas.

Can you post the CDM speeds and the model of the Samsung flash? Also, what format?
You might also go to Amazon and review ratings. For example, the authors "Leonardo" posted several CDM results for this chip. When looking at review make sure that the item reviewed is actually the item shown in the picture and not the 32 or 128 version when the 64 is shown.
I have found huge differences in thruput on the cheaper USB 3 and the speed varied depending on how the flash was formatted. I have done a lot of testing and have never found one that was faster then what the vendor promised ;<)

That's the USB drive, I got 128GB version.
128 and 256 are advertised as having the same speeds, and online reviews show decent speeds.
It was formatted as FAT32, and now I've switched to ExFat, but the speeds are still crap.

I think the main issue is that the Samsung Fit 128 USB flash drive has lower speeds if he's connected to the USB C port, than if he's connected to USB A port.
Which leads me to believe that something might be wrong with the USB C ports, as they are not reaching speeds they should.

Looking here
https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/the-best-usb-3-0-thumb-drive/
you are getting %80 of what Wirecutter shows for the sequential test and less than %50 on the 4k random

Do you have stats for when you plugged it into the USB3 port? You needed an adapter from C to 3.

Samsung fit is a USB A drive.
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MUF-128AB-AM-Plus-128GB/dp/B07D7PDLXC?th=1
When connected to USB A on the laptop it gets these speeds (ExFat):
But when I connect it to USB C, VIA D-Link USB C dock, I get the same speeds I get with Samsung USB C Flash Drive.
