Hp Spectre x360 - 15 - df0002ne

Laptop built in microphone (located with webcam) stopped working with Windows 20H2 update. I kept rolling back the update as no fix was found. When I rolled back update, no issue with microphone working. As soon as Windows 20H2 (19042) update installed = microphone does not work in any app.

Now - Windows had managed to update at some stage without me noticing, so 10 days has passed and I cannot roll back. Problem is directly linked with 20H2 update. I just didn't have the time nor energy to go into battle with my laptop to get a simple things like an audio-input working, so I just stayed with the previous build as it was nice and stable. This build managed to break several things, including my touchpad - so am not a fan overall.

Permissions have been checked in Privacy: All apps have permission and the log shows that Zoom is using microphone or whatever app/program I was using to try and get sound out of the microphone. Settings in Zoom etc is not the issue, as works with previous Windows build and not this one with exact same version of Zoom or whatever program I am using.

Microphone does NOT work in apps but does actually work as such. Meaning no sound comes out when using in Zoom, Teams, browser, voice recorder etc.

In device manager, showing up as "Microphone Array (Intel Smart Sound Technology)". Device appears to be working.

Microphone itself is not faulty. The microphone shows a signal in the Sound-menu, as it will pick up sounds. It also shows up to be working in the "set up my microphone" and picks up sound for the Cortana-setup (but does not pass). As in the bar will show that sound is picked up when I speak.

Bios has been recently upgraded to most recent version, hard reboot done a number of times. All drivers from HP updated and I have tried de-enabling and enabling device several times. No issue when running hardware tests.

I have to be missing something cruciual here, as bios is up to date, all updates done and microphone is actually working.

Thank you in advance for any help with this small but rather annoying problem
