Hi @abdhrn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP Spectre x360 13.5-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef2000 is brand new and you're experiencing rapid battery drain (~1% per minute) when unplugged, here are the steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step HP Troubleshooting for Battery Drain

1. Run HP Battery Check

Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to check battery health:

2. Update BIOS and Drivers

Ensure your system is fully updated:

Update the following:

  • BIOS
  • Intel Chipset
  • Intel Graphics
  • HP System Event Utility

3. Adjust Power Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery > Battery Usage
  • Identify any apps using excessive power
  • Set Power Mode to Best Power Efficiency
  • Disable background apps you don’t need

4. Perform a Battery Calibration

  • Fully charge the battery to 100%
  • Let it discharge completely to 0% and shut down
  • Recharge to 100% without interruption

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
