The touchpad on my laptop appears to be separating from the case.  My laptop is out of warranty but I'm just wondering if thgis is a common problem.  I purchased this computer when I retired and I am very happy with it but this is a problem that I have never encountered before.  Would replacing the touchpad solve this problem?  I appreciate any help or advice I get.  Thank you.

@dpegjr, Welcome to HP Support Community!

You can try reseating the touchpad on your PC and see if that helps. For steps, you can go to page 41 on the Maintenance and Service Guide.

If the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your PC.

Hope this helps!
