HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ap000 CTO

I purchased my HP Spectre x360 directly from HP back in December of 2019 and have loved using it ever since. However, within the last 6 months my laptop has developed a mysterious shutting off problem without warning and last night my laptop completely died. My screen went black, it started to heat up, and after I had given it some time to cool off, it wouldn't turn back on. This morning, I bought my laptop into a reputable repair shop and they told me that my motherboard was burnt. My laptop is only 3 years old and the motherboard is burnt. I am really disappointed because not only was this laptop a major investment but it could have also caused me serious burns or started a fire. After reading through a ton of forums, I realized that a lot of people are facing the same issue with HP Spectre laptops. How can the motherboard burning be a common issue among $1500 laptops?

The diagnosis cost me about $75 and then I was very disappointed to learn that the cost of these replacement parts and repair would be around $700, which is around half of the cost of the laptop itself! Furthermore, since my laptop it is out of warranty, it seems that HP has made it impossible for me to speak to anyone about this issue. Is there someone at HP here who could have this laptop returned or repaired by HP for free? Does anyone know what the best course of action is in this scenario?  Why hasn't HP recalled these defected laptops, it's a serious safety hazard!

Thank you in advance for any help!
