HP Spectre x360 13-ac052na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Only a matter of weeks after buying the Spectre I've started to notice loud creaking and clicking noises every time the screen is moved or any pressure is added to the hinge. The issue mainly affects the left side hinge. This is a bit of an issue because I swap from laptop to tablet mode many times throughout the day and the nasty creaking is quite the annoyance.

Within this forum, use the SEARCH function, with the text "spectre hinge broken", and you will find TEN similar threads, by other participants reporting a similar problem.  Please take the time to read those threads.

Also, your HP warranty is still valid.  It may be prudent to purchase an "extended warranty", to add a few more years of coverage.

It would appear that searching for 'spectre hinge broken' only seems to return results of the Envy range of laptops, further more the hinge is not broken, it just creaks, therefore it's absolutely no help tonne whatsoever.

I posted my query on this forum to receive a solution to my issue, not to be told to purchase extended warranties and taught how to search for stuff.

It is not broken YET.   :Crying:

That is a well-known symptom of a hinge that is SOON to break.

Tonne?  Are you British?

If it does break after the original warranty expires, you will appreciate that you have purchased an extended warranty.

Yes I am British, are you gonna let me know how to get my laptop repaired or just scrutinize me..?

I presume that your HP Warranty has not expired.

So, rather than continuing on this user-to-user forum, I suggest that you scroll down-and-left on this page, to see:

I have exactly the same problem. Left hinge creaks but not broken. There are no answers on how to fix the issue anywhere. Only random responses and people who work for HP caiming they've contacted a higher authority. Any solutions posted are for different laptops. What is the fix?

If the computer's warranty is still valid, contact HP to make a claim against the warranty, to get it fixed/replaced.

If they refuse, you might consider purchasing an "extended warranty", to protect your investment in the computer for another 2 or 3 years, should the hinge break during that extended period.

If the computer's warranty has expired, you've probably viewed some postings on this forum, where some "offiical" from HP has posted a message, on behalf of HP, to privately make some sort of "goodwill" offer.  The implication is that HP knows that the "left hinge problem" is known to HP.
