HP spectre x360

my HP Spectre x360 convertible, model 15-dfO59Ona ProdID 5AT18EA#ABU, was working perfectly fine until it ran out of battery perfectly normally so I plugged it in expecting it to charge and switch back on as usual however it hasn't

The charging light doesn't come on. I have tried using the usb3 port with another charger with no luck.
The only response I have got from it since switching off is when I plugged both chargers in together which made the charging light blink red very slowly.

I have done a bit of research and tried various button pressing techniques with in all honesty no luck what so ever. People said on various websites to leave it to charge for 12 hours and try again... I still have no luck, does anyone have any ideas? This is the first time I have ever had a sigle problem with my computer and it was working completely fine until it ran out of battery.

Hi @Alex3093,

I checked the service guide for this model and wasn't able to find details on when the charging light is red. However, I'm assuming there might be a problem with the battery.

Could you try a power reset?

  1. Remove any external accessories
  2. Unplug the power cord
  3. Remove the battery (only if it is external and removable)
  4. Hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds
  5. Reinsert the battery if it was removed
  6. Plugin the power source
  7. Attempt to turn on the device

By the way, is the device under warranty?
